THE VEIN OF A COLORFUL TREE

i <no! not me> sang tangerine
tune-summer ending bursting
green fields of your heart
we laughed running through
ivory key-feet swiftly: chasing
life down into her brook of water
toe-tipped dipped prose :: you
are me and i am Y((ou))
writing poetry inked by leaves
we took the tree to task
and she gave her leaf of
color for the book we write
the words of our love

no: oh, tell it to
the world — they may never
care! P O E T R Y

BE QUIET

Be quiet my heart
be twice
quiet my soul!
that which prey
searches love
by quiet streets
of life we walk!
Be by gentle life
so quiet
all life and love
comes to gentle
spirits full of sun
so be quiet,
love!
by brilliance
most never know!

COME, SWEET LIFE

a romantic note clipped
my heart in static
traffic            i heard my heart
beating say, “this breathing
is laboriously lovely”
while in grid-locked life
my casket has four wheels
and i’ve a title at work
that clearly i wish not
my epitaph — and the words
i hear in halls without
souls, the colors of sight
which not match naturing
wisdom…no! not once ounce
of me
–i believe in mysteries
and have made many too
it is the beautiful zero
the forgotten memory
COMING TRUE

LOVERS STRETCH LIFE UPON NARROW BEACHES

WE breathed
yes? Did not you say
“the shore is long but
narrow like life”
my dearest soul
you make me believe
Art is more than Life
and so you took my heart
into those wondrous
moments of our secret
life. i am not that bold
nor so cold to say we
made the universe colorful.
And my gentle soul it’s
been just moments ago
but now my need is stronger
:saying how much i love you
we breathed
yes! The shores are long
and life so short my lover!

TEARS WHICH AWAKEN STONE

A word,
mostly awaited
and you wait,
the word
like a seed
seeing clouds
waiting a drop
the small life
to grow:
the mighty tear
of joy which awakens
stone,
a heart to be opened
below.

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXII

That blade which takes
I took that made
what cuts I did
so did I bleed
and took my road
that dust and blood
the path my blade
had cut for me

end-roads

UNTITLED

my tender lip-heart promise
that which I dreamed
come true
oil paint color-burst fields
that kite which fluttered
rich royal blue skies

that which flies –
my heart!
a golden filament string
so gently to you I gave
and my heart bravely flew!
always with you, my guide.

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXV

Inner song
bring me soul
a tune i sing

one so old
that when first sang
before the sun

and angels danced
a circle they ran
around the space

where lay Earth

Inner song sing to me
a sweet-toothed tune
pick up my shadow

and show me light

and angels dance
they circle me
around the space
where lay my soul

FAIRY COCK RING

We laughed so hard
we cried
We died giving
smiles too
i love my mother and aliens inside
of me. () saw
the moon tonight
We wept moon bean tears
so silver i ate one and grew
more than human, too.
The pope has a casket of skin
from Jesus two thousand years
young: smells like McFoundle fries
tastes like chocolate cookie too
I’m so inside my head
I say best if I stay in a cave
trying to figure out shadows
I love the dancing bear and how caught
fish beg; so released when i throw them
back into the River of Life.
