THE SPOKEN TRUTH OF ROMEO & JULIET

In fair Verona’s realm, where love did sprout,
Two souls conversed, their hearts casting doubt.
A tale of passion, tragedy unfold,
Romeo and Juliet, their story told.

Romeo:

O Juliet, sweet Juliet, thine eyes so fair,
A love forbidden, yet we both dare.
Through feuding kin, our hearts have found their way,
In clandestine meetings, night turns to day.

Juliet:

Romeo, dear Romeo, a name I hold,
A Montague, a tale both new and old.
What’s in a name? That which we call a rose,
By any other name would smell as sweet, I suppose.

Romeo:

Thine innocence and grace, a radiant sight,
In moonlit whispers, love takes its flight.
On yonder balcony, you do shine,
A beacon of hope in this feud’s dark line.

Juliet:

Yet Fate, it plays a cruel hand, my love,
A tempest stirs, like clouds above.
Tybalt’s anger, Mercutio’s fall,
A web of tragedy, entwined in all.

Romeo:

Oh Juliet, my heart doth ache with woe,
Love’s light and shadow in this tale we know.
With poison’s kiss, I sought to find release,
To join thee, love, in everlasting peace.

Juliet:

Romeo, deceived, thy death I see,
A potion’s sleep, to reunite thee and me.
In life and death, our love shall persist,
A tale of passion, on Fate’s sharp twist.

Romeo:

But hark, dear Juliet, let lessons ring,
Of love’s endurance, through pain it will cling.
In Verona’s streets, our spirits reside,
A love eternal, where destinies collide.

Juliet:

So let our tale, a beacon be,
A symbol of love’s unyielding decree.
Though we are gone, our love lives anew,
In every heart that beats, in skies so blue.

Vowels of Life’s Tapestry

A black and silent “A” I’ve found,

Velvet-clad, a swarm profound,
Around the cruel’s fetid ground,
In shadows steeped, it doth abound.

An “E” of mist and candid air,
Like tents and lances, proud and fair,
Through glaciers white, it seems to dare,
And shivers of parsley, light as prayer.

“I” in purples, crimson hue,
Bloody salivas, emotions true,
Lonely smiles, a tearful view,
In penitence or anger, too.

Oh, “U,” with waves of greenish hue,
Divine shudders, seas renew,
Pastoral peace and cattle’s coo,
On furrowed brows, alchemy’s cue.

“O,” a clarion call divine,
Strange stridencies, sounds entwine,
Worlds and Angels therein shine,
Violet ray, her Eyes align.

In humanities voice, these vowels weave,
A tapestry of beauty, life conceive,
a choice of words, like winds that grieve,
Unveiling truth, a heart’s reprieve.

Poet’s Notes:

(This is the teacher’s note to explain this poem)

“Vowels of Life’s Tapestry” – An Analysis

In “Vowels of Life’s Tapestry,” the poet crafts a symphony of linguistic and sensory imagery, invoking the reader to traverse the woven intricacies of life and emotion through the prism of vowels. Each vowel becomes a brushstroke on the canvas of existence, an element of meaning that transcends its phonetic role to become an embodiment of experience. This poem carries an air of profound reflection and insight, a hallmark of a poet.

The opening lines, “A black and silent ‘A’ I’ve found, / Velvet-clad, a swarm profound,” immediately capture attention through the juxtaposition of imagery: the blackness and silence of the letter “A” is paired with the tactile and auditory sense of “velvet-clad” and “swarm.” This hints at the duality of life, where the seemingly silent and inert holds depth and complexity beneath the surface.

The imagery continues to evolve as the poet traverses through each vowel. The “E” is described as “mist and candid air,” evoking a sense of transparency and possibility. The mention of “glaciers white” and “shivers of parsley” conveys both strength and fragility, creating an atmosphere of audacious challenge.

“I” is portrayed with vivid emotions – “purples, crimson hue,” “bloody salivas,” and “lonely smiles” offer a vivid panorama of the human experience, ranging from passion to sorrow. The poet masterfully weaves the dichotomy of “penitence or anger,” underscoring the complexity of emotions that the vowel encapsulates.

The letter “U” is associated with “waves of greenish hue,” summoning visions of renewal and serenity. “Pastoral peace and cattle’s coo” reinforce a sense of idyllic harmony, but the mention of “furrowed brows” and “alchemy’s cue” hints at the alchemical nature of transformation and the deeper layers of existence.

The climactic vowel, “O,” is painted as a “clarion call divine,” eliciting an aura of sacred resonance. The interplay of “strange stridencies” and “Worlds and Angels therein shine” invokes a cosmic connection, as if the vowel itself is a portal to higher understanding. The image of “Violet ray, her Eyes align” merges the celestial and earthly, illuminating the connection between the macrocosm and microcosm.

As the poem concludes, the vowels are hailed as creators of “a tapestry of beauty.” The weaving of vowels, like winds that “grieve,” is reminiscent of both the fragility and resilience of existence. Their power to “unveil truth” and grant “a heart’s reprieve” reinforces their role as conduits of meaning and wisdom.

In conclusion, “Vowels of Life’s Tapestry” is a masterful composition that marries linguistic elements with profound insights. The imagery and associations tied to each vowel are laden with metaphorical significance, revealing layers of emotion, experience, and the interconnectedness of all things. Through this piece, the poet beckons readers to explore the profound meanings lurking within the seemingly mundane components of language, and in doing so, illuminate the profound truths that underpin human existence.

ADULTS ARE DEAD CHILDREN

Love my cry-tears from dark clouds
Hate might give hope in blue skies
but know
you are happy
you are happy
you are happy

when you give me love

And if you thought you were
a Queen inside my Head
there are novels I’ve read
that are Kings

You learn me
You learn me
You learn me

And dog-ear pages die
sipping tears of blood
from my aching heart
we learn more within tears

Waste are treasures
Waste are treasures
Waste are treasures

while we bow to life
while we shout outloud
while we weep like Christ

we're adults
we're dead children
we're dead children

And some love then die.

Poet’s Notes:

I wrote this poem for students of linquistics and poetry. Here is what I mean:

The poem is a visual and linguistic experiment that plays with the arrangement of letters to create both a typographic structure and a narrative. The title “s-p-a-c-e-c-a-t-t-e-r-s” hints at the primary visual aspect of the poem, where letters are spaced out to form distinct words. Let’s break down the poem into sections and analyze its possible meanings:

Visual Structure:
The poem is constructed using deliberate spacing and formatting, breaking down words into individual letters to create a unique visual pattern. The letters are spaced out and arranged in a way that makes reading the text an intentional challenge.

Title: “s-p-a-c-e-c-a-t-t-e-r-s”
The title suggests that the poem revolves around the concept of spacing and scattering letters. It prepares the reader for the unconventional layout and encourages them to interpret the arrangement.

First Section:
The word “how” appears to be a prompt, inviting the reader to engage with the poem’s structure and content.

Second Section:
The phrase “b)e ari)v(ing” suggests the act of arriving, but with letters interspersed to create a sense of fragmentation. The parentheses within the letters may represent interruptions or deviations from the expected pattern.

Third Section:
“downheredisperse” is intended to be read as “down here disperse,” suggesting an action of scattering or spreading apart.

Fourth Section: “SSPACECATT”
This section might represent a variation of the title, emphasizing the repeated letters and fragmented nature of the text. “CATT” is a reference to a cat, which is associated with curiosity and exploration.

Fifth Section: “eringon(t(o-“
The words “ering” and “on” is deciphered in this section. The use of parentheses and hyphens adds to the sense of disarray and fragmentation.

Sixth Section: “bThe):l”
The letters “b” and “l” are more prominently visible, while “The” appears partially. The presence of parentheses and a colon creates ambiguity and intrigue.

Seventh Section: “eB”
This section refers to the previous “b” and “e” letters, connecting with the earlier section.

Eighth Section: “!d:”
The exclamation mark and the colon further emphasize the unconventional punctuation and formatting.

Ninth Section: “S b”
The letters “S” and “b” stand out, but their meaning remains enigmatic. Let the reader decide!

Tenth Section: “(s”
The letter “s” within parentheses adds another layer of complexity.

Eleventh Section: “sKyDiNg .cAaTtEsEr)”
The words “Sky” and “Catter” are more visible in this section. The capitalization of “Sky” and “Catter” suggests potential significance.

Twelfth Section: “to”
The word “to” is isolated, indicating a transition or direction.

Thirteenth Section: “dea(si)ltt(er)ingly”
The word “dealt” is partially visible, surrounded by parentheses. This section adds to the sense of linguistic playfulness.

Fourteenth Section: “spacecatter;”
The word “spacecatter” is complete, connecting back to the title. The semicolon adds to the ambiguity of the poem’s ending.

In summary, the poem “s-p-a-c-e-c-a-t-t-e-r-s” is a blend of visual art and textual experimentation. It encourages readers to explore the connections between fragmented words, phrases, and letters while inviting personal interpretation. The intentional disruption of traditional linguistic structure challenges the reader’s conventional expectations of reading and meaning.

The poem creates an abstract and surreal experience, prompting contemplation on the interplay between form and content in poetry.

A SEARCHING HEART – An Ode to Love’s Unveiling

Oh, let my soul resound and heart’s melody trill,
Within this tapestry of words, a symphony to thrill,
Each thread of my being’s art, a love-filled quill,
Binding us in sweetness, an embrace no time can kill.

Beneath a summer’s sky, my spirit’s call does soar,
Resting in grace, like emerald leaves gently adore,
A blade of green, a whisper of love’s ancient lore,
In nature’s embrace, our hearts entwine even more.

My voice, a cascade of life’s essence and flow,
Crafted by the touch of lands where breezes blow,
Born of generations, the roots that deeply grow,
At thirty-seven, my journey begins, a love to know.

Beliefs and doctrines set aside, love takes the lead,
A spell of introspection, where truth finds its seed,
Welcoming all voices, whatever they may plead,
Love’s tapestry unfurls, a kaleidoscope indeed.

Nature’s wild energy, a primal force takes flight,
Unrestrained, unbound, in the day’s pure light,
A symphony of passion, in the starry night so bright,
Love’s fire burning fierce, an eternal flame alight.

In homes adorned with fragrant, tender delight,
Shelves of memories, in scents taking flight,
I inhale, mesmerized, love’s sweet, fragrant rite,
In this aromatic dance, our souls take flight.

The essence’s allure captivates, yet senses stay clear,
The untamed air, unbroken, whispers truth in the ear,
A fragrance of connection, no distance, no mere veneer,
Love’s gentle breeze, eternal, always near.

To the forest’s edge, I tread, love’s truth to share,
Baring my soul, vulnerability laid bare,
Craving nature’s touch, the wildness we declare,
Two hearts beating as one, an affair beyond compare.

Breath’s smoke, love’s echoes, whispers of silk,
Roots of passion, desires that never wilt,
My life’s rhythm dances to love’s secret lilt,
Day and night blend, our hearts forever built.

The scent of leaves, of sea-rocks kissed by sea,
In barn’s warm hold, hay’s fragrant glee,
These aromas remind of you and me,
Love’s symphony composed, a life’s masterpiece to be.

Words, like breath, take flight upon the wind’s gentle kiss,
A kiss, a touch, love’s language we never miss,
Tender embraces, love’s passion found in this,
In the realm of our hearts, our eternal bliss.

Light and shade, a dance on trees so fine,
Supple branches sway, as souls intertwine,
In solitude’s calm or life’s bustling line,
Love’s fire burns bright, eternally divine.

Wellness sensed, midday’s song in tune,
Melody of our hearts, from slumber to noon,
Greeting the sun, love’s warmth, like a boon,
In love’s embrace, two hearts forever swoon.

Have you measured the world or its endless scope?
Grasped poems’ truths, unlocked meanings’ rope?
Felt the surge of love, the passion’s ardent slope?
In this universe of us, our eternal hope.

Stay by my side, from dawn to twilight’s grace,
All verses’ wellspring, in love’s embrace,
Earth and sun’s essence, our love’s cosmic space,
Golden light of a thousand suns, love’s eternal chase.

No more through others’ eyes, truth we perceive,
Past and ghosts, we no longer grieve,
Through our hearts’ gaze, love’s secrets we believe,
In the symphony of our souls, forever to cleave.

Hear the voices, sift them through love’s soul,
In thoughts’ kaleidoscope, together we’re whole,
Love’s journey, an eternal scroll,
Forever entwined, two halves form a unique whole.

More and forever, our love’s eternal flight,
Boundless as stars, in passion’s tender light,
Two souls as one, united and bright,
In the universe of love, everything feels right.
