A HUNDRED POEMS – LXXX

I did it! I stole the light!

That child I am — so [lay] I did for me
and myself cried /numeric Queen:
did you feel the river? I fed it happy tears
and my child-me ran we did! Upon the fields
of our-my dreams and life smelled
like laundry clothed wind-swept dried souls
hopes lopped hypnotized butterflies
_______but i would have never walked upon
the deep dark rivers_____unless in this morning
you held my cold hands: someone saved my life
: i lay low and that child i am – so laid my
head inside (roped and tied) in space-time sweet
freedom butterflies \\\flew away////

into the here and what is now?

A HUNDRED POEMS – LIII

I feared a thing untold & unseen
that thing I feared within my mind
a thing too!

Split by half in such unknowns
I strove to know!

Unraveled too which spilled upon the floor!

Imperfect thoughts rolled
from higher ground to low!

Then reality’s curtain fell; my needle tried
to stitch the past when love was good!

But life ran beyond the needle and instead
stitched time within my soul!

ORAGAMIC LOVE

LOVE lee one:  do not come around here but Always the first time
giving up & waiting (between fern leaf’ing hug)s’ing between the
angle of life and living windows — thy wholly imaginary house
of inviolate darkness_____

x’pecting me except perhaps long
dim hours of sleep | a swarm of interpretations like rocking chairs
and hearing the news we’re all diseased.

Marvelously never knowing idleness brings tears of phosphorus light
into these animal-like gestures.  Three puppies in the Kansas small
town drug store window: like the woman i found in a shop window
in the rue Notre-Dame-de-Lorette.

Her tights were rolled in flour ready for the baking of a brick oven-lovely
heart.

Deep divers spelunking pleasures in all wonderous unknowns are the moments of
my youth — to be born in Sorrow, like Sorrow (true) then growing a stem outside
to see truth — GENEROUS SPIRIT APPEARS!

PHANTASMAGORIC NATURE

If life would allow me ‘yes’ a garden from my heart-soil
would grow beyond sky.

Yellow-green blades swaying in step with that hidden song
twirling notes and trumping bass and lay between smooth thigh
nature scents caressing soul.

Life hunger betrayed too long.

Phantasmagoric nature reveal tulips upon a man-vessel bare
undulating passion melting there; if life would allow me yes

a farmer beating plowshare
be toiling in your fields
the harvest of a lifetime

if life would allow me ‘yes.’

HOW THE RAIN CAME DOWN

HOW the rain came down as drops of lit sunshine is why i started to laugh:
since life broke my heart
i found my Soul within a cloud so full of darkness
and thunder-song then i laughed

such deep blues

As though we’d just won a war and the world rejoiced
all inside my head — my skin said, ‘you can leave whenever
you wish’ i decided to stay instead

a heart full of silky scarfs of rainbow colors for us all
summertime out /as if life’s a real thing\

so i cried

as the rain came down as drops of lit sunshine is why i
started my laugh. Butterflies and lonely tears screaming
/reaching for air\ is how rain came down as drops of lit
sunshine is why i started to laugh instead of tears.

but my garden is green and lovely by the touch of my
private heart.

GELATO DESERT SANDS

AND if you go — love goes away? No, it’s understood.
My love stays as freedom is a breakfast food
as if love can live with right or wrong (undestood)
or rolly-pollies are from frightful mountains made—
long enough just for you and me.

As though pain can pay the rent
regardless of genius please the talentgang comes
to collect the fallen minds and hearts upon
the sidewalks of understanding. Everywhere.

So as it is; my whole life: as my coalwood eyes
burn wint-air oh waiting (my love) for spring ?(y)(w)ou(w)
un-air-stan?me
crazy
me like

evry-ting
we can do it for just Me and You. So bring it (with love)
for a landing — without misunderstanding — as there is no
end what we can do together without end.

see shebert lips of babies and their beating exploding Love-hearts
: with a little luck we can help it out.

EMPTINESS IN ALL ITS GREATNESS

Light cursed falling lies in a singular box
as evil has many names (but the devil always
has many more). Pink-black lips inside my
mind: little crying lilac laughter splashing
the next steps (oh yea hey ‘who can save the
world?’ someone gonna save the world?)
Hey God, stop fixing that beehive
and drop that devil to the floor — strange
how evolution is less than nature’s greatest
achievement — clocks a tac-tic tac-toc
like ringing time and lilac. . .
the flower dies.
the hope follows.
emptiness ensues.

MASCARA SMEARS

WE walk upon the lemon slice like-Earth spinning dish
a garnish upon our plate ‘ a heart full of pie
and i love pasted upon your face (within orange-spilled
skies) makes mascara smear when i taste your heart

oh, moon like a drop of caught tears!
i crushed you there in my fist,
and on top of day i forgot your name
when i tasted your heart it makess mascara smear

Oh well, oh yeah
it’s an open space
oh no, oh my
i died forgiving
just two hands upon
a wooden cross
and mascara smears
christ-like lover.

CRAZY ROADS

THE WORLD was made of bad choices.
My love is forever and tainted
by flesh and blood.
My IS forever.

People get what they want.   YOU can take everything — i give
if freely.

AND THE SKY WAS VIOLENCE and the words of whores and male
bastards —  take my heart  tear it apart .
  Crying is forever.
They take and get what they want.
Go on bitches.  Take everything i had.  I grew a star before you
were thought of asshole.  How I hate humans.  I know.  How you are.
I hate you!!!! You take everything!

——————FORGIVE ME.
you could say i lost faith in ancient mysteries and the Holy Church and say
i lost my sense of direction. 😉  But if I ever lose my faith i say
there’s nothing to loose. Someone said i was many personalities — they can say
it on multimedia and how many politicians said:  game show host:  but if i every lose
my faith in you/then nothing else to lose]   then, if and when i lose my faith —
in you.

THE POET OF NO REGRET

Now another bird. My poem for those who, in a period of uprisings or vice, and want to depart with light heart and cheer.

Nymphea and Hymen! I see the tree of Hymen gleaming in the night, my heart holds fast to the seeds of the dream. Also Mars, that beautiful ant of war, I wish a cause to fight for; but love flies more far, and at least we may win through Cupid’s dart, which is a virtue.

So now, Charles Lamb, and Alfred Tennyson, and Leigh Hunt, and Robert Southey, there are three people whose poems are much overpaid. But, as a matter of fact, an independent mind (as mine) may be defended against such a charge, for with my poem in the Thistle, now our rightful equal, I fancy I speak, there is even room for Tennyson.

As for the man who wrote the Lamb’s Reclining; if he were to appear before me, I should feel obliged to speak. The world may as well own the Lamb’s as own him not. He cannot help that. But that I should call him truer than true — ss a proud privilege, and one which If I were to exploit unwisely, would tarnish the honor of true poets.

Other poems:

Among my compositions not read (i shall not waste my limited time) were a couple of portraits:
sketches of myself, as thou wishest me, of a madman and an old man; and now I say, that if I died this evening upon the ground, without tears nor regret.
