GALLANT BALL

That slipper from a night
I found upon my doorstep
So elegant thou foot be
That I should die to know
the rest of you jewel-eye
Mystery woman of night
I fall to deep dreams
and die each heart-beat
Come to me woman
there within your garden
eternally I shall always wait

GOLDEN WORD

My wave of emotion rolls tender silk
a lullaby song against spring speak
oh lovely rolling rapturous  lips
bleeding dreams and waves into me
what woman are you that you be
so elegantly complete in mine eyes
a symphony of bee-so-loving-thoven
that beauty so angelic stay secret
if for me and no other man – spoken
I love you and that is golden woman

YOUR TOUCH IS IVORY LOVE

When the morning comes I see you
through a window shines the sun
and your touch is ivory love
And the angels bring to us
a song that heaven sings to me
nothing better than what you are
I want nothing more than your love
and living in a world of sorry fools
I can smile and give my best girl
It’s when I feel you within my arms
that summer breeze and love softly
Such a love so deeply there I feel
and nothing can break us down
and they will all let us be girl
because I believe in you forever
that light in the deepest darkest night
and you may not think I care for you
but you know deep down inside I really do

JELLY BEAN JOURNEY

Just once I sang from the bottom of my soul.
It was a joyous jelly bean bouncing on the
hot pavement of my heart and it left tracks
of gooey sugar from 1st Avenue to Melbourne Lane.
The crowds of people clapped as it made its way
and that dog who fell in love with you — his
eyes I fell into before your fragrance lifted
my soul to higher realms above the rooftops
of that older section of housing in the Big
City.

I have no idea where the jelly bean landed but
know that my heart fell into one of the many
street gratings and I await a torrential flooding
so my heart rises and I can escape to find you
before I’m washed into that vast ocean, forever lost.

WHISPER SEND ECHOES

Image

Mist a way beyond the line
where my path follows you
Oh wish I may for a life
that fond I dream of you
and days of us below the blue
with stars upon your shoulder
and words you softly whisper
send echoes through my world

OH

Image

exquisite is that thing
— a feeling
heavy but soft
and light as air
all in one
but more than so
a thing seldom
called ‘oh’
‘oh’ is a good taste
like cherry but smells
like a thorn less rose
to see ‘oh’ one must
be in throe —
the throe of ‘oh’
is so delightful
is but a glimpse
of ‘oh-oh’…
but i digress —
the lucky know

PHANTASMAGORIC NATURE

Image

if life would allow me yes
a garden from my heart-soil
would grow beyond sky

yellow-green blades swaying
in step with that hidden song
twirling notes and trumping bass

and lay between smooth thigh
nature scents caressing soul
life hunger betrayed too long

phantasmagoric nature reveal
tulips upon a man vessel bare
undulating passion melting there

if life would allow me yes

a farmer beating plowshare
be toiling in your fields

the harvest of a lifetime

POLLY

Image

My Polly, nations gather to greet
this beautiful creation from dust
Aberration of fantasy becomes
what life has brought forth to Earth
Thunderous applause for mere moments
to see the twinkle of God’s eye —
a pollination between flesh and spirit
What grand flowers grow within your fields
and highlights of sunburst painting hearts
showers from blue skies and kisses too
My Polly-be so-good for Earth and me

IMPERIAL LOVE

Image
(c) E.P. Robles 2012

Woman, I gave to thee
not more than what I am, —
a mere taste of eternity
the breath of imperial love
gently i laid before thee

The heart has no eye, yet —
some believe ocular
that what they see is more
but my love is a tiny thing
and great power so granular

FIVE POEMS (iv)

IV

such wind blows my love upon your dreams
that flower of fields once knew bright warmth
and now the grasp of pain so cold sweeps
upon frozen tears pain hurts the soul
i should say come away — away from sorrow
but the gate between fate and me is locked
should i find that eternal key — be your heart
