When you awaken
do you get up into
the sinking —
inside of you?
it’s three feet below the bed
where you rest your head
at the foot of —
an anchor-stone
I can only ask because I know
the weight of that stone
kept me three feet below —
the resting bed
until one day I arose
up into the sun
when I awaken
that’s where I go

sometimes (now) I dislike
(hate) indecision
many fates //now// spill
horrified goldfish meeting air
myopic eyes live cataract-like
but still &-now I unlike
that Inde-CISION cuts me
through the ghost-bone

FOR one
incredible moment
nothing happened
and I fell in love
with that nothingness

IF I were a bird and born
with no feathered wings
our skies would give me love
and the gentle rains
should cleanse my eyes
If I were born that beating heart
within my soul I’d find my wings
and my tiny-throat trilled songs
would lift my soul and there I’d fly!

Do regrets die away?
some may ask —
a brilliant soul
has such a thought
While some affirm
that yes they do!
I affirm it wears a mask
as regret hides in you

Is one’s past what one was?
or does one remain as ‘is?’
All flowers bend within the wind
as all souls commit their sins

What quiet thing that hugged me
today the wind barely touched
a tender sky tear-drop eye
my pillow the lazy grasslands
a blanket tender cloud untouched

I feared a thing
untold — unseen,
that thing I feared
and my mind,
a thing too —
split in half
by such unknown
I strove to know —
unraveled marbles, too
which spilled
upon the floor,
perfect glass balls
rolled from higher
ground to low
and reality’s curtain
fell — my needle tried
to stitch the past
when love was good
but sequence ran
beyond my needle
what stitch in time…

my little one! my little one!
where have you gone?
beneath the little bed —
perchance within
a closet full of brooms?
my little one! hide and seek
is your favorite game —
but now i see i cannot
ever find the little one!
life has given you the key
to maturity and you now hide
within a fully grown one!
my litle-big, my little-big!
so proud to find you —
all grown — the little one
no longer has to hide
beneath the bed!

i should wish to be, gain
from conception through
little feet, baby breath too
a clean slate of possibilities
i should wish to be, again
the admiration of loved ones
if i should be — again
what i was before the now
i would take a different path
such a dream i give —
my solemn vow
