56TH & MY HEART

Polly say you drank
you’re never bored
upon the south corner
of modern life
on 56th and my heart
so lovely she goes
expressing my feelings
so tried so hard
but I still have
just two more things
to say which I never
thought of before
certainly she gave more
on 56th and the corner
of my heart
self-prophesied
just one thing more
thought we were walking
upon the Galilee
Sea with Jesus and
night feel and the sea
arose as a ship my heart
caught within a wind storm
i never had a chance
a stone aged teen love
and Jesus weeps for us

ALL BECAUSE OF YOU

Baby sleeps beneath dreams
white sheets and i almost
fell into the hole of your
life

Maybe someday you’ll choose
the one ; so many souls,
love how you scatter like
ice to heat upon life

and how i remember your crown
;the princess with crowds
who sing, “you’re the same
as me!”

/and how the world spins
beneath you like a heart
lost in turmoil and danger
% we’re getting older %

(so much the same as me!)

Who realizes, who chose you?
love never does show you
how life swallows light
and you came down as my angel

(while I’m getting older)

and i always love
i always love how you
lived and now just a ray
of light And there’s no time
left for losers, sweet dreams
live all because you left
singing, “All because i loved
you.” And the ice scattered
like swans upon a pond speaking
“we always love you”

A DOOR PAINTED BLACK

i have a dry heart without color
— and watch me go.
i am the beggar on the street
begging for a soul,
watching how beautiful people go.
i see a row of living flowers
all colors but never turning black.
i see how your sun-dress flows,
and i see a line of lovers
some turn their heads.
i am always besides myself
waiting for you through the door
watching the doorknob turn.
i say my lungs are blue and if I
open my eyes what shall i see.
I see a door so painted black
and wish you’d turn your head
and listen to the words of my soul.
a heart so full of colors and flowers
that will never turn black,
looking inside myself i see ribs
that shall never turn black
facing facts — i see a blue-jay too
looking for her nest and my love
laughs with me and I see a black door
with no doorknob and see how love goes
by and I still turn my head
wishing love to visit my soul

uh huh hmm…uh huh hmm…turning black
she turns her head and fills my
darkest black //

TO THE BEAUTIFUL WOMAN

TO the beautiful woman
in blue and white
apple-bite smiles
,butterfly lash.
From far flung lands
of beaches so white
a California delight
your smile caught
in perpetual light
I devour the pearl
of your eyes,
slend kiss-finger
let me embrace the rays
of your eternal fire!

YEARNING, CRYING, WAITING

Yearning, crying, waiting
I was hoping I could
try, year, and wait
and my eyes keep on
falling tears waiting
yearning and crying
trying — so I’m
waiting just for you!
So, in hoping cause
you’re the one I love
why, crying all night long
wishing someday soon
something changes so
you’ll be all just mine
and thank God I’m
alive just for you!

LOVE AND LIGHT

WHAT majesty does beauty born
when natural acts become love
lest pain or fear for these, none!

Invite such love and light
and confuse not between past and fear!
Let bloom both love and light
Come…
I say live
away from those weak shadows.

C: i

FEAR is a bridge
  of egg shells
below boiling
yoke’s tears
the mighty
weightlessness
   of delightful love
kisses you and all is
as when landscapes
are within mountainous
hearts, dear —
  with each fear or tear
or bare hands or gloves
  love is love and
his and hers, a rumor:
rolls across the land
  into my mind
and wishing your room
is large enough for
  my truth and yours!

BY THE MOON

PUT to sleep my dreams
and give me familiarity
send to me a ferocious
phenomenon of 1920s
where i find myself
where i find myself
again . . .
an age of dramatic call
of social and political
change — i prayed
i knew what i did
so many years ago
i became what i am
a gigantic uvula
of perturbed gesticulation
of all the faces passing by
i’ve no choice but to follow
bright lights, people, and the
moon at night  and what i do
is so wrong; you’ll never
hear my feet or my presence
in the sharp fang of my teeth
I could never show my face
at noon and you’ll only see
me walking at night by a moon
I’ve a face unrevealed
and the hands of a priest
while i stalk you  feeling
how trapped i’m in this life
like an innocent lamb
always walking by the light
of the moon;  i’m the face
of a sinner and have no shape
while the moon hangs over you

GABRIEL SINGS TONIGHT

THE words of angels
say: “we all have times
within our lives when things
may not be going well…”
and an angel falls from
heaven with each rain drop
to guide it to its place
and golden moments within the
stream of life rush past us
and gratitude is our most
direct link to God and
the angels //so sing
glory unto us
