MY BARE WALLS

Image
(c) E.P. Robles (2010)

I NEEDED someone
strong to lean upon
so I leaned upon
my solid bare walls
Such held me —
with strength
and did not
cause me pain
So I lean and cry
upon the surface
of those solid walls
and wish to heaven
that my walls
could hug me back

MY SOURCE

THE deep I need
a source in life
the well I draw
to quench my words

If it dries
my life will wither
and my spirit to dust
will crumble

DREAMS REST

How is now living today
within the noose of life
Considering lesser things
would brighten one’s day

FAN-

PLEASANTRIES

Sleep catches the hook
upon which dreams rest
Piercing the back of skin
I dangle in twisting bliss

IST

You make this all go away
When your kiss touches my fire
Upon my knees broken glass bleeds
A fine line between pain and pleasure

SA-

NEEDS
BEGGING
PLEA-
SANTRIES

But for now the hiss of eternal night
embraces the fears of my broken soul
Where no man’s land presses my mind
Against a rock and your cold wet skin

LOSING YOU

WE met at the local coffee shop
I told you the romance was over
You choked at first then cried
You said you have already left me

I walked away and did not look back
You were crying and so very alone

On my way home I saw a wreck —
“No survivors” the police said

Then I recognized the car —
and realized your words

Within the carnage of twisted metal
there you were
and had been dead for hours
