a simple poem

The lightest moment
is not shape
nor color
but all
emotion.

JUXTAPOSITION

wet leaves upon the heels
of my tender bare feet
tall trees and night breezes
seem to sing, “love you”
my heart’s last beatings
like a far-seen ocean voice
and all the flowers exhaling
sad perfume from dilapidated
buds — maybe next season
Your hands so big around :
the tower of my mind
how sad you make me leave
all my worries behind.

VIIII

Laughing is absolute freedom
while Wishing is the well of slavery
And Pain and suffering is the glue
to bind soul and spirit.

So Many Faces

so many faces
so many sorrows
so may they be
for only today
and not for
tomorrow

tomorrow is a
thought perched
upon the heart
of a deep spring
as childhoods of
yesterdays with
much promise

to pet the head of
a sparrow is to tell
the difference between
bone and marrow
to kiss the dirt upon
my knees is supplication
for the golden ratio

to live, to cry
to hurt and die
to love and fly
to crash and lie

is human.

The Nectar of My Life

Detached petal
Beneath a midnight sun
Catch your kiss
Before it’s gone
i have your skin
Within my soul
You’ve no other
To burn so i go
i'm still planted
Within the garden
Of the dead
Keeping my stem toward
The midnight sun
i'm the one you
Pulled to blow
Twisting within
The charcoal air
i'm the spirit
With a bee
Stealing all
The nectar
Of my life
And if i pollinate
Before i'm gone
Let it be somewhere
The daylight sun goes
Because i'm the spirit
With a bee stealing all
The nectar of my life
