I found a penny
which held no thoughts
together the feather
and copper bone
fell upon an anvil
cloud of striking stone

see me through
today — the walls
so grand and
what height!
I [my soulBones] tired
but that heart still beats!

and I wish my mind
were a heart — thoughts
like blood coursing
through my life

my unspeakable —

A HUNDRED POEMS – 92 – SOLAR ASSAULT

THE day’s assault
dimming
  a  waning
flame trimming
and now the shadows
Delightfully skip-grow
as the sun dip below
the lost chances
of another beautiful day
Dusk, tell me lies
And so,
the truth of love

THRONE OF BLISS

In the dark of day
a sunlight of burning
I paid a price for life
this I did — today

She took my pocket
so full of heart
and said today
“Tis the price of love”

I had no pennies
just a hope
that priceless
throne of bliss

Today I paid
a debt of faith
in the dark of day
I paid a price for life

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

“WHAT fear my love
if kisses mend pain”
I see shadows
my lover
“then I send
my soul across
the night”
It does well dear
but monsters
need affection
so they live
“Then my love
I send some to
those shadows too”

THAT ONE

HAVE you seen the beauty-birth?
A nature-thing that smells baby
A feathered soul thin bone
A gentle blade of green soul
I kiss the soul of that One

THE NAMES OF GOD

IN an incredible feat
of intellectual prowess
I counted the Names of God
and the stars went dark
and all the cosmos screamed
“HE has known! Love…”
