A HUNDRED POEMS – XXXII

forgive me      my madness
eccentricities
my faults
my tenderness
a pain
a thorn inside my brain
and skin so human
it hurts
my eyes of marble
so hard
intense sight beyond light
and that thrump
within
a vessel with cargo
holds
lifetimes of love and sorrow
none of which my soul
measures
a life on hold
save this spot
