THE CRIMINAL SPIRIT

EVIL behind our back as a reflection
counting space and passion, a written
prose so sad — it’s a sad world;
when a man breaks a woman because
he can — where a face full of owls
glide the winds to touch your dry
tongue.

Benediction and mermaid breasts
consequences across your cross
and face — to raise your hands
with love for a word spoken in
fitful nightmare dreams.

No newspaper on the front porch
no milk bottles at 5 am today
i expected suffering for only
myself and my handwritten eyes
oh, no one knew anything

but my criminal spirit
and women who cried to the moon
and drank the voice of blood
and evil deeds of lust and flesh
as frogs croaking and serving roots

nothing to lose and no begging
her eyelids fluttered and floated
to meet disunity and a single finger
waving — BURST in the AIR and give
hell to pay //obligations and death
meet in the middle.

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXX

my part a half of whole
a thought a slice of more
that my life lived and soared
my part your half our none
an emotion : the wave of ocean
that my life becomes
Life and as one
what more
than one and whole?

A HUNDRED POEMS – 029

DEVASTATION;
utter beauty that what you do
unknowingly you do to me
Butterfly-lash deep pools
eyes of jewels stares within
my soul — which you do

What fragment-time!

The world vanishes while my soul
so near to you!

Love, my love, devastating love!

A HUNDRED POEMS – XIX

IF I were a broken soul who could mend me?

The cobbler down the road?

with his crafty skills and many tools,
the awl or maybe stretching tool?

He surely would know — and should I go?

My shoes, so worn but my soul so full
of these empty holes!

My Cobbler, sir!

Repair my soul,insufferably

i plead!

A HUNDRED POEMS VIII

NOT  a goodbye my sweet birds
but that season’s  change
o’er time
           and human need
the burrow may borrow
what little warmth
         of heart
But the sun sees a vastness
of grand love we give Her
so not a goodbye
little ones but a promise
for tomorrows!

A HUNDRED POEMS – I

\Into that fire so brief, death:
an organ untuned-Springfest, the last…
we spoke-tear; oh dear —
gave console to eternal words
not from fear!
i have a perfect stain & you
beauty-cry and ate the heart:
my resolve strong an arm upon
my heart cascading tears-girl
(does she know?) that
love and life demand
joy, fear, life, & love?
her dress ddrips blood
so long dreams sang the phantoms
in the skies — here comes life!

WONDERING HEART

WONDERING HEART
\
don’t ask me:
i wondered long fields
lovingly wondering your
heart –> don’t tell me
how you hate me | i was
standing apart to deny
it –} if we could live
for ever -=-> if we hurt
each other; i told you
we all have spirits but
only a few have Souls:
i was there/
standing …
you were there — to watch
how love tears apart
imaginary lust.

1980S MALL ORGAN MUSIC

WE shared sunshine and laughter beneath an umbrella with cocktails and
absences of cloths –you had a glint within your eyes: remembering ancient
memories from ‘ago.’  I touched your skin (forearm)and you awoke.  Toes deep
in sand//Explaining how you do this from time-to-time.\  you asked for another
Manhattan i retrieved it for you.
   you drunk bitch.

BORN UPON A RAFT

i WAS born upon a raft; castaway upon the sea
many a year ago my birth upon the briny deep
And i know vast waters
all points across an oceanic reality
But once i dreamed i was born
— be upon a land where all i see
::disharmony
all points across vast humanity
where fear and pain delivered a daily dose
now realize birth-induced reality
is far better than human insanity

TEXTURED SUN

skies so blue
scars so dull
life’s wild
love so cold

textured sun
within my mind-
shield:

every time a
big lost
fight to the
end — takes
both my hands

frown
forgiven
smiles
bring the
sun.
