THE WALK-ABOUT

Image
(c) E.P. Robles

I was walking my walk-about
just clicking time
upon my heels on Earth
and there came to me
not from within you see
but from the clouds
a voice from heaven

listen soul tread softly
and never turn around
devil hounds are running
as long as you don’t see
mind your journey ahead
and they’ll let you be

I’m just clicking my heels
one step at a time
minding my own business

Miles I’ve gone and more
and my feet so sore
but that sign ahead
says to me a detour

But I can’t leave my path
there’s just too much to see
and that sign is a mirage
so I’ll keep clicking my heels

I’m walking the road of life

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXV

Inner song
bring me soul
a tune i sing

one so old
that when first sang
before the sun

and angels danced
a circle they ran
around the space

where lay Earth

Inner song sing to me
a sweet-tooth tune
pick up my shadow

and show me light

and angels dance
they circle me too
around the space
where lay my soul

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXIIII

just love-
no hope    or harm
a splendid death
luscious little
a tongue bit

orchestra   play close    to me!

desire came last
night — a fearless fire
that mystical touch did you
and now i am not here longer
a balloon rose burst

and queer —
time and space between
no fear     it has died
in place   the kiss
that love gives

THE BEACH

Piece_No_17-110811 - Scentless Apprentice
(c) E.P. Robles

there were orange sherbet skies

a blanket of deep blue waves

and a white beach comforter too

I said to you my dear lover

let this be a dream for life

and never awake me or you

and i want you to know

deep within my heart

i never want you to go

let’s play with the water

and sing with the dolphin

i comb your hair with a shell

and darling never awake

dream upon my tan shoulder

and i will kiss you forever

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXIII

Beside of me

and into me
Poseidon’s spear thrust
heaving chalice breasts
and white cap foamy waves
what sin

no shame    of me
nature does what she need

ME AND YOU

How do we meet on the heat-road of this dead-end girl
where the moon shies away and the owl scatters
my boots have a tar-goo so hard to clean this night
what could you say to me to make it all the worth?

Sir, I saw a sinner who stared into my eyes – nights ago
and he woke up the love and passion this night
I have nothing more to give or say tonight to you tonight
the ocean sings to you in a shell
and the bird tweets a tune to your heart
and a rising world of color brings you love

Yes, that is it…
I wish to forsake the bloodshed
and all the grief

I say that love – love is a wave
it’s a seventh wave of love
and drown in that wave ripple

But hate and grief pinches me
and my heart and body sir
is a fragile fabric in life

Lovely soul come to me then
I will remedy the error of life
in a bite you will be saved

and love and tooth saves
and hatred abated for time
and space and philosophy

We share the same Father
and believe me when I say
I hope He Loves me and you

THE DISCUSSION

So we agree about the situation
and it’s all very well —
but what to do about the human
those that love and hate

nothing, they will kill each other
and we can wash our hands clean

but what about life and love
they exhibit it too dear
and we are not like them

well, here we are I agree
maybe wait for a One
who can balance it out

dear, we tried that once
remember — they killed him
and now they are more hungry

then I say let human decide
and we know that equation
zero sum

Lover, not if I have my way
I will never abandon
and have something up the sleeve

very well…dear
unleash your love
and Grace will Save them

those animals with souls
we breathed unto them
judges will judge

BORN INSIDE

Born inside a bruised dirt-womb
and tasted asphalt before sweets
and fell into the fire feet first, damn
before my first baby steps too
life is trying to kill me
no matter how hard I try
spit and words don’t help much
but sure makes me feel good
death can have me —
but not today
no matter how hard it tries
death is trying to catch me
it can take the highway
because today I’m walking
walking in the flowers
beneath the sun

GOD-POKER

I stepped outside the deck of cards
an infinite pile of here and now’s
a brand which the Gods call life
and took a peek ahead the hand
that fate had prepared for me —
a shuffle here and cut and cut
and peeked again and smiled
no need to cheat —
when one’s heart the ACE

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXI

When does that end
come
let the new shed life
what left in that past
never was
only seasons do melt
between
what, when, how
