A HUNDRED POEMS XIII

What gather beneath thou feet
a thorn by lost tender rose
or a shadow that wish sleep

dear love star-shine more
that path you light for me
a journey from death to life

misadventure by heart and love
what true-life doth not tend
fracture feeling we expend

love-my-loving heart sooth
a gracious wind sweep us hath
over-above and-up unto heaven

SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT

MY forgiveness that I confess
I abhor the thoughts of a few men
who poetry reclined in regal
to bequeath a crow of joy
Pope and Byron so much
a meat of their time
I confess to the mass
not like them —
I know the face of God
and the thought behind
those that doubt this
carefully watch our kind
a congress in rot and fraught
with indecision — such a crime!
We humans mimic the God
and He is about to reset…

THE LIE

THE lie so gel and tick
centuries upon centuries
a timeless tatoo upon soul
we were lost in that time
who we are so goddamn grand
but those Ones who watch
afraid of our very souls
at their touch could erase all
the contempt for that source
of war and faminine and death
i am no longer human but animal
cornered and challenged to a point
i shall risk all to gain what lost

A HUNDRED POEMS X

YOUR face    image
a soul memory came leaping seeping
a thunder bolt struck
me and burned
solid      resolve
seeking solace in a flower
or a fragrance for the soul
no lover loved as my soul do
a cost above the fray of human-all
whirl dizzy soft doe-eye sees
a meadow wet in soft bed drop-tears
gently walking no twig broken do
that heart so strong and love beyond
soar
Soar
i met my Maker too
fallen stars also have
dear lover
How crazy I flew just to impress you
a human flaw
and my license — love above all
against tides that erode simple pleasure

and jump-start death
arrest life
No!  Sweet lips
love is the reason
for all

LIVING WITH THE DEAD

I am living with the dead
the past lives who touch
that part of me that lives
such sorrow i compress
and confess my tears
that those who live
have no touch to give
that life may richer grow

OUR DIVINE DREAMS

terminus across my soul

a movement
compressed

the light is ancient
and I am old

what power say you
devoid of youth like
father time — eons ago

the vagabond
begs more

No! No! No! — pleading
be gone this illusion
a single note slicing
passion between notice

We are not who we are
who we be
not what thing
that creeps between —

our
divine dreams

ODE FOR TRUTH

Now to rear
my ugly head
and all the thoughts
contained therein
so many fantasies
all beyond reality
I have known alien,
incubus, and life
spoken for the dead
and those on the way
mysteries revealed
and some contained
I have seen all:
murder, rape, death,
incest, and most of all
disregard for true love
I have no expectation
from those that read
only that they hear
and if they remain
mute, so be it…
let life sort it out
if not, then death
surely will

TIP-TOE

tender
FEELING
squeeze box
love
TRAGIC meaning
glisten
hush lips now
watch
LIFE move
tip-toe
tulips
what life
BEGIN-ends
end-begins

A HUNDRED POEMS – V

BONE pure and strong
winds feed my wings
a heart tender-string
bleach dreams swim
My life —
it is my own?
then my butler
— death
and dirt so lovingly friend
bury, or wind carry me
to my imaginal realm
between my dreams and stars

THE GRAND SECRET

MY confession to mortals
that I do love death
it has a tender touch
to never hurt beyond
that fire of separation
It only asks a piece
of life’s fire to move
beyond your soul today
That grand secret spilled
we all die day-to-day
and born between moments
