A HUNDRED POEMS – 038

We are all born
into a dream
so deep that most
never awaken

THE BEACH

Piece_No_17-110811 - Scentless Apprentice
(c) E.P. Robles

there were orange sherbet skies

a blanket of deep blue waves

and a white beach comforter too

I said to you my dear lover

let this be a dream for life

and never awake me or you

and i want you to know

deep within my heart

i never want you to go

let’s play with the water

and sing with the dolphin

i comb your hair with a shell

and darling never awake

dream upon my tan shoulder

and i will kiss you forever

INSTANT DARKNESS

I was on the turnpike
when the sun vanished
one moment it shone
— a coronal-bride
to be and next
a vast deep darkness
whose reach greater
than the deepest oceans

Off I crawled the turnpike
as it too dangerous to drive
for even the headlights died

and now the fields I belly-hug
knees too shaky to stand
that great be my fear —

and in the distance I hear
the guttural screams of humanity
even the creatures too

GOD LOVES THE SOUL

I walked the sunlit path
and we exchanged vows
and my life was yours
and my heart too
and my breath one with you
how could you have walked
away from me many years ago
I was your only one
who you really knew
and i shed tears for years
so take a look at me now
empty spaces against the dark
but i crawled above my grave
i am not a dead man woman
but resurrected in grace
and God loves the soul
who believes in vows
and i live for one
who wasn’t you
and she is
here with
me now

REPLAY MY DREAM

IT’S SO HEAVY
all spines break
and cities too
politics cave —
religions too
the mud ups all
and the water
buries memories too
starlight dims
skies and clouds too
i am revealer ma’am
and for you sir’s too
not Death — he is immature
but Me — I am the ONE
love and hate me too
Too…you…boo…cry
no such thing as fair
only pure light unbear
beyond grey matter too
i-love-too-you-boo-you
come to me my mirage
back into my box-cage
let us begin again
and make mistakes right
REPLAY TODAY LIKE A DREAM

ODE FOR TRUTH

Now to rear
my ugly head
and all the thoughts
contained therein
so many fantasies
all beyond reality
I have known alien,
incubus, and life
spoken for the dead
and those on the way
mysteries revealed
and some contained
I have seen all:
murder, rape, death,
incest, and most of all
disregard for true love
I have no expectation
from those that read
only that they hear
and if they remain
mute, so be it…
let life sort it out
if not, then death
surely will

A HUNDRED POEMS – V

BONE pure and strong
winds feed my wings
a heart tender-string
bleach dreams swim
My life —
it is my own?
then my butler
— death
and dirt so lovingly friend
bury, or wind carry me
to my imaginal realm
between my dreams and stars

A VISION

I saw a rock hit the abode
and oceans swayed below
only sky remained dried
this my friend, deceased
showed a decade ago
And fires that burned
an Earth, opened hungry
that gapping mouth for life
and fear fed Judgment

A HEAVEN

Should I skip a tulip upon
the face of death so elegantly
the horror or pleasure being
release of state or satisfaction
that tethers are cut to flow
above the skies of blue release
Human flesh I sing-weep for you
the perfection incased in beauty
Lower lips cascading tear-love
most souls sweep into the sea
but your love floats a heaven

CLOVER LOVER

My clover sweet flora
so gently against my eyes
what dream today my green
beneath me a burning hell
above is only deep blue sky
I sing to me a mystery tune
ancient but doves live to fly
a piece of me if you choose
to take a peace of love with you
