YOU LIVE WITHIN ME

I went to an estate sale
and found the love of ages
and she was dead but alive
and my life fell into her

and I rode that drive
the rode of evermore
and the past became
it became my now

Your fashion so high
not like the plastic
those girls who think
a woman is a label

and I ride and walk
and walk and ride
and the road is long
and the end is never

I sang a song today
but the night claims
the words I sing tonight
and the day weeps now

I say, “so la la la la”
and the devils cry
and the angels bow

tonight we ride ages
and time is ours girl
and from dirt to flesh
tonight a breath for you

FLY ANGEL FLY

My angle visited me just today
and she brought along her tricks
and they blew me away this day

She held within her hand
a butterfly so beautiful
and it spread it’s wings

and my soul-field covered
in her love butterflies
and Van Gogh died today

Today I saw my paint dry
and the canvas prayed
never let that brush go

Today, my hat I tipped
that soul a flavor gold
and I said…

fly on angel
fly through my skies
fly with my colors

My brush I threw away
a painter is a hand
but she’s my heart

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXVI

And would the sun shine more coldly
if the light within my soul dimmed?
and would the song of birds mute
if my voice became a silence?
within you would feeling die?
and if the eyes from which I see
would shut close forevermore
would life be a darkness for you?
these things I do not know dear
because no longer do humans write
ink upon paper that be sent forth
so my well of ink is dry and thoughts
If mere words some more poetic be
that could stir the heart of you
then love me more than what words say
and let Heaven count the numbers
I’ve a field to walk and dig the ground
and the sun is fair today dear love
today the grace of nature be with me

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXIIII

just love-
no hope    or harm
a splendid death
luscious little
a tongue bit

orchestra   play close    to me!

desire came last
night — a fearless fire
that mystical touch did you
and now i am not here longer
a balloon rose burst

and queer —
time and space between
no fear     it has died
in place   the kiss
that love gives

THE BEACH

Piece_No_17-110811 - Scentless Apprentice
(c) E.P. Robles

there were orange sherbet skies

a blanket of deep blue waves

and a white beach comforter too

I said to you my dear lover

let this be a dream for life

and never awake me or you

and i want you to know

deep within my heart

i never want you to go

let’s play with the water

and sing with the dolphin

i comb your hair with a shell

and darling never awake

dream upon my tan shoulder

and i will kiss you forever

A HUNDRED POEMS – XXIII

Beside of me

and into me
Poseidon’s spear thrust
heaving chalice breasts
and white cap foamy waves
what sin

no shame    of me
nature does what she need

ME AND YOU

How do we meet on the heat-road of this dead-end girl
where the moon shies away and the owl scatters
my boots have a tar-goo so hard to clean this night
what could you say to me to make it all the worth?

Sir, I saw a sinner who stared into my eyes – nights ago
and he woke up the love and passion this night
I have nothing more to give or say tonight to you tonight
the ocean sings to you in a shell
and the bird tweets a tune to your heart
and a rising world of color brings you love

Yes, that is it…
I wish to forsake the bloodshed
and all the grief

I say that love – love is a wave
it’s a seventh wave of love
and drown in that wave ripple

But hate and grief pinches me
and my heart and body sir
is a fragile fabric in life

Lovely soul come to me then
I will remedy the error of life
in a bite you will be saved

and love and tooth saves
and hatred abated for time
and space and philosophy

We share the same Father
and believe me when I say
I hope He Loves me and you

PASSION SPEAK SHY

I refuse to believe that love is fleeting
only a shadow made of lust of night
My spirit has built a castle for love
and her rooms are many to fill
each a day in my life for her
and when she comes I have room
and a land so green and grand
full of brooks and trees and life
and flower beds and a vast sky
where she is I do not know yet
but I await her and heavenly love
she will bring and I shall give back —
an ounce of her is a pound of me
and my hand is a river against
her breast that she shall feel
the life of golden years through time
a water to rock and pebbles
and pebbles to grains and sand
and stream shall carry us beyond
to the other life above heaven …

MY ROUND TABLE

I loved the unlovable
a princess who wore

a beast mask of pain

she bled me each day
but even so I was strong
and I really learned a lot

and now I see the pity
— such strength I gave

but my princess remains

in an untruth that life
she lives is a lie — I cry
Oh I cry such a lie

that she lives and I die
I die each day I awake
but my strength moves me

A knight never gives up
My love a round table
for the lovers who never die

A HUNDRED POEMS – XVIII

such repose exposed
equisite that evidence

my heart reveals

a mind of its own

i ponder that wonder

your poise a flower
discover that land

when in my youth
i ventured forth

but now that age pull

but my heart and mind

that love and heart
have i for you burns

still a fire and lips
love has no costume

that we love is all
and love you i do so!
