When I left
you tore to shreds
what remained
of our memories
and that touch
you gave to me
I cut into pieces
upon your grave
If I live to see
tomorrow morning
I won’t forget
to warn the devil
and heaven shudders
at my innate power
the angels begging
don’t forsake love
I won’t be able
to match the beauty
of the dead in my heart
if I live to see
tomorrow morning
I won’t forget
to give you
my warning
I will touch your hand
and thaw —
your dead heart
and heaven will sigh relief
there’s no beauty matched
what lives dies today —
and tomorrow lives
another burning day

if life would allow me yes
a garden from my heart-soil
would grow beyond sky
yellow-green blades swaying
in step with that hidden song
twirling notes and trumping bass
and lay between smooth thigh
nature scents caressing soul
life hunger betrayed too long
phantasmagoric nature reveal
tulips upon a man vessel bare
undulating passion melting there
if life would allow me yes
a farmer beating plowshare
be toiling in your fields
the harvest of a lifetime

WHAT we change
changes us
profound ways
inclined
something better
sometimes bitter
and hindsight —
always knows

GENTLY tell me rose petal dew
before the day of light
when doe jump fence from night
— today this I wish I do
that tremor that light your eyes
from spirit to lips and heart
Say those words if unbinding tongue
and forever embrace my fire-love

DREAD —
of all the visitors
which rang my heart
on days in slumber
a feeling known apart
This one I choose — away
come another day or —
a kinder spectre can stay
and share a cup of tea

when morrow begs heart
in days of fire that pain
be calm for I come
this too shall die
and dreams comfort
too they roll with eye
along the fine line
between insanity
and life’s stable coil

THAT DREAM —
which the sentient being swims
one of fire beyond mortal being
one in bed the other free to roam
I have seen — walked Hades
felt eternal anguish — frozen pain
until spent and then release
upon awake, no residual fear
I am complete, nothing controls
death, life, pain, and regret
left within the pits of hell

FEAR death you say trembling
what grasp the Pale Rider
has over the mortal coil you cling
that you tightly hold to chest
Such nonsense a folly human thing
living life one foot in the grave
Ignorning the beauty bestowed you
that fear devours life each breath
