Do you know:
you smell of Earth
when you thunder
and look upon my soul
lightening eyes
and when you cry
torrential skies!
I think you more
of Earth than woman
the nature-mother
with buttercup lips
a Venus flytrap lover!

“IF” is a large void
it’s waist is full
like fat men toddlering
And IF is a pair
of promising lips
upon the face
of true love
only loving
knows truth
all else
a belt across
the girth of obesity!

You survive
to keep the gods
in check
the heart strives
early mornings
for a worm to peck!
The bluejay is true

The smart phone is killing the mind,
the wet sponge, an abstract small nut
within the white shell. It’s
demise is a thing locked within
the spirit of creative engineering.
I am holding regardless.
Bundled within my tight
blanket it smothers,
It’s inviting; at red lights,
truck stops, bookstores, and strip clubs.
An allure of shiny machinery;
the magical device,
connecting souls
to the honey hole
of all our desires.
A true confession requires
deep admission, and the cloak
of denial is the largest entrance,
and technology has the largest door.
Built not of clay but polycarbonate
is its face
our friend is a liquid display
of glass like Alice we look into
the mirror for lying truths.
My hi-tech golem I love you
my aching fingers do
more than the lover
across the table for two,
But the golem of hi-tech
cannot thinkSpeak, like Sanhedrin
described when Rav Zeira asked
a question, there was no reply…
NOT YET…

I walk alone for just my life
and I walk a path like you
and I know life like you know
to know is a dagger in our heart
Ooooooooh Oooooooooh
Ooooooooh Oooooooooh
I see a cardinal flying there
across the skin of our sky
red against the blue like you
and we can only hug and cry
So we follow the winged one
through the currents
and find ourselves in school
in this lesson called life
And the season is a cold one
so we place our souls upon leaves
the fallen dress of majestic trees
For society has no branches to hang
Ooooooooh Oooooooooh
Ooooooooh Oooooooooh
And this education is other-worldly
a smell of school books and spitball
we placed the apple on the desk
and watch the worm eat its way out

UNDER the silver-eyed moon
where it always hangs
it spoke by way of Monday
i saw upon the horizontal
fence the eyes of a cat
too, its eyes spoke
and three eyes now
upon my soul, counting me
— five in all
Soon the clouds had shut
the moon, meowed the cat
and skipped away
leaving me with two
i could watch Rome
with five but two —
too few for my to-night
But the cat exquisitely ran!
But not so elegantly the moon!
And me, two eyes two feet
two glazed, too stiff
where i always hang

If confusion has you
(distance and emotion
means the heart skips
smoothly across wishes
of a dreaming spirit)
If you love
(me, i’m the agent of
confusion by way of
my unbridled mind)
a soul, the kindness is
smoothly a skipping stone
And inevitability is cousin
to fate, two clouds
serenading the sun
on Sundays the tears
of two hearts
shower-resembling flowers
like breathing-beating souls

I GAZED into the mirror’s back
there I saw the world’s eyes
the beauty and horror
of all our humankind!
Even my own eyes I saw
weeping for a blind eye!

the shadows, yes the shadows
have rebelled!
what of the world?
is it these things almost
human-like they mean?
where vacant words are
their stare?
i cut myself upon their thread
unholy cosmic beings —
i’m snared, nearly there!
— death!
the corners of my eyes
neatly tucked within “aware”
the shadows, yes! the shadows
have rebelled!
while the veil of “unaware”
reveal the angry souls
i hid within the forest tree
and begged the light — take me there!

You gave me hammer and nail
to build a house of prose
upon the hearts of souls
I took the words like sand
my diligent hands bled
building the castleSoul
and real estate by the sea
soon shall eat my sweat and tears!
Life is a word built by hearts
and the soul like an ocean
that eats her sandy beaches!
