Now to rear
my ugly head
and all the thoughts
contained therein
so many fantasies
all beyond reality
I have known alien,
incubus, and life
spoken for the dead
and those on the way
mysteries revealed
and some contained
I have seen all:
murder, rape, death,
incest, and most of all
disregard for true love
I have no expectation
from those that read
only that they hear
and if they remain
mute, so be it…
let life sort it out
if not, then death
surely will

Twenty-first century angst beating at the door
and I say who are you, we are me and all together
sliding thumbs across glass of social media device
and we sing a song across ages unknown to lost souls
which way do we go across crossroads in the fog
waiting for the van to come straight jacket-man
take me and you and we and together reality-SEE
oh the tears fall from marshmallow skies-pink
Who said the Pisces fish jumped out of the water
two thousand years it breathed wet air for all
Jesus rode a fin across the water catching men
but now the fish has a dry dirt to learn-walk
Astrological-mumble-jumble jambalaya dish
spice live-give worm-sign spice lives for all
scientific-spiritual hula-loop gyrating groove
Better learn to walk than drown six feet deep
mother universe hold us up just a bit now
grace is good and love is the cream on top

MY friend of stature walked by
always dream-walking he is
I was leaning out my window
two stories high when I saw him
the giant beast who slumbers
I whistled for him and he turned
and a single step before me was he
his face as wide as double windows
and eyes as large as boulders
but gentle brown fawns in composure
I told him my problems and he sighed
and tears fell down his massive cheeks
I caught a few within my room
and nearly drowned from his passion
go gently my dear gentle giant
I walk with you along the dream path
and may never wish to visit this world again

So curious to slip
between the cracks
of space and time
A place without acts
or chapters that rhyme
More of a place I say —
we redo a film clip
so poorly made before
A second chance at life

All blood and flesh the cage
— a golden gate
cannot you see
that keeps some dreams at bay
— a border close
to pure fantasy
when the Keepers turn away
a dip or two from reality

LISTEN to the radio on the AM dial
what you hear isn’t prefab noise
but the crackle of creative past
You say the past is fogey old
but the juice was sweet and new
and gave us the best of music
Good-chu-ku-ku-ku
didn’t you know
Dickinsonian cool
I sit on a Monet stroke
swimming in the Lillie’s
a bridge in the willows
What we wish catching
a filament on a egg shell
and you’re crying
Boo-hoo-a-hoo!
We all want to sleep
but the pea is a giant
and the princess is dancing
I’m crying
so sore thigh
bruised from love

SLEEPING I dreamed I had a wardrobe
and there were every kind of costume,
each one for the fantasy of life.
But the police cuffed my hands
saying, “Don’t you know kind sir,
we control the fate of humanity.”
The dream police took me away,
saying there’s no court for my offense
and they threw me back into the cell
where waking people sit and wait,
hoping of a life where they can dream too.

I WALKED among the giants
whose shadows split the day in half
This — to me– happened
in a far away land
where rock speckles water
and blue tickles white beach sand
Friends they are even to this day
But the most I cherish who be my friend
are the little ones who live within the green
A plush forest without time or location
beyond this realm of fear and pain
