with a vision

and embraced

ODE TO DEEP REGRET
SUCH pain! I cannot refrain
from the deepest regret
My need to greet your words
wishing freshingly painted
upon your notes scribbled
But fate or other monster
bestowed this trick
that my heart would fall
for one who long ago
passed beyond the flesh

my broken soul…
My angel spoke
and said it so…
what is broken
becomes the steel

My courage not within
but received by my love
for others…

SPLIT ROCK
WITH a gentle divine love
your desert flower bloomed
digging deep within the sands
of my barren land
Such sweet roots encased my heart
and with time — like a rock
split my heart into two

the terror-plague
not a shadow
nor a beast
but the fear
of eternal pain

THE abyss of the maternal

not placed there
by God or birth
but through the pain

HUMAN speech
so shallow
Written word
so deep
A prick of time
fleeting
But passion
for love eternal

MY SOURCE
THE deep I need
a source in life
the well I draw
to quench my words
If it dries
my life will wither
and my spirit to dust
will crumble
