THE SLEEP
I slept to dream
a wardrobe
of every type of costume,
each one a fantasy for life.
And the dream police cuffed me
saying, “don’t you know kind sir,
we control the fate of humanity.”
They took me away and said,
“there’s no court for your offense”
and threw me back into the cell
where dreaming people sit and wait
to live a life where dreams come true.
