This carriage so tosses me my love
and miles I have yet to go
but you are with me on my travels
I see you about as love conjures you —
the supple curve of twin peaks
before gold cascade across your form
and those fields with dancing flowers
twirl they do and dance when we are one
a peaceful brook I crossed and heard
that sweet throat-murmur to me from you
I find you when I see-smell lovely nature
Still a few miles to go before I reach for you
within my sweet sleep

Has anyone ever sang you a song
when you were in your darkest hour
just a few moments given for life
if not then listen to me now
Love is not a thing to hold
possession impossible dear one
and doves are not made to cage
I should know…
And when it rains such are tears
all you feel is the heavy patter
it beats across your bruised heart
what I had I have given back to you
and what I wished for you possess
and this is your song — for life…
so listen to me now
life is never to late
for a thing such as love…

One can only wonder
in our hectic day
if the mind could snap
with just a flirt of air
the malaise is more
than just a germ
it resides in gadgetry
and bleeds the peace
and steals the time
of our fragile society

All blood and flesh the cage
— a golden gate
cannot you see
that keeps some dreams at bay
— a border close
to pure fantasy
when the Keepers turn away
a dip or two from reality

a step or two into the civilized-wild
just a breath or two from safety
and the stares stabbed me in the heart
and what thoughts they threw i knew
it had to do with the body i grew
sometimes — sometimes i cry enough
but times these times are so damn tough
if i could catch a rocket to the moon
— i would too
i run back into my four-walled universe
where opinion is the hardest, me-on-me
and the only friend i have isn’t flesh
but that special mirror that fixes things
and i cry so tired i cry the world’s tears

YOU love simply and love-adore
before the first
tiny footstep
hush baby breath
before
the gift you gave twinkle eye
baby hand hug so tight
your soul beyond the gulf
timeless space-fizzy-place
I live just for now my child
to bring you here — for awhile
thank you for this honor!
such sorrow my time is short…
but we have eternal roles
I shall see you again-again

The greatest cosmic joke:
that humans believe
they are in control
of world affairs
the cosmic Jester

should not refrain from love
which I pour from fragile heart
tis a thing so gentle-be you see
that I give to only you for life
come here my darling bunny-bride
let us discover new pleasures —
and kiss and lick and nibble
i hear that Spring comes so soon

Quite simply, the macabre fascinates me
my readers know and perchance the future too
My words are the actors and your mind the stage
As my parents I too ventured to entertain
albeit in a more sadistically tortured way
The life of a writer is indeed isolation and
the fantasies and cravings of fear and hope
intermingle into a tapestry of literary lies
But therein a nugget of truth between things
as fiction and fact — what is life if not
fact and fiction? We proceed along our path
as though only truth resides on the corporeal
plane. To defy light-of-day reality is to
exist in a world of one’s own fashioned by
bravery, instinct, and honesty.
I wish the future the very best but feel
the cloak of humanity shall do us all in
eventually.
Am I right? Tis so I do believe, yes.
I do.

in the echo i heard your name
a hollow thing rang in heart
inside a bell the bats flew
what i knew i could not see
but my conscious knew it well
we took too much time and today
our paths should have never crossed
my belle dance the shadow night
until we meet another place
another time we’ll give it all
i could ever wish to match
the beauty of this love
this beauty pure simple beauty
