OPUS 1

LOVELY light sing your symphony
melt the disease of humanity away
cleanse my soul beyond reproach
so my Father finds me approachable
I have sinned many times I confess
but my heart in darkness I arrested
The crimes are that I am human
let the axe fall upon my neck
if such offense garners death
I praise you and the stellar beauty
of all you have created

AMEN

HOW TO DIE

GRAINS of sand
such is time
but a grinding mind
sets its focus
throughout its life
not how to live
but how to die

SILHOUETTE

WE pretend
to show affection
beneath the lies
— Silhouette —
a hidden rope
around my neck

You could bring
me a diamond
But there’s no stone
harder than your heart
I could scream and cry
blood in a tea cup
staring at all
my spare parts

You took the treasure
of my heart shaped box
a figure of speech
only for those
who know ignorance

I would have loved you
more than life itself
If only the love you had
was better than gold
But now I cry blood tears

My tears of red fill
the porcelain tea cup
strewn around me
nothing but spare parts
I live within
a nightmare dream

HER FINAL SPRING

WINTER her final Spring
in bed ridden fashion
such life fiercely battled
Industriousness bought
through pain and tears

Through force of life
and broad strokes of art
travels she made
upon creative youth

And Death spoke, assuredly
but crept in delicate fear
and begged a pardon
— a release of guilt

Her flower withered…
but not from existence
a pollination across hills
to the fields of other-there

SWEETLY BITTER

SUCH a surprise
that time brings
a larger span
of knowing
by existing
and living
That life at youth
— bitter sweet
but upon the bed
of death
— sweetly bitter

MANY SECRETS

MANY secrets hide away
which man nor woman see
Plainly before us they lay
But the trained eye knows
only that which it sees

TIME ABIDES

TIME abides no one
but speak gently
love surrenders
hearts so true
I give to you
a sliver of time
laced in feeling
it is the divine
a cloth of penance
redeemed in red
softly treading
upon my soul

MY ASYLUM IS WELL

IF the world be held
by a thread of despair
let our love repair

Such state of disrepair
reeks injustice for life
and conjures illness

Where is the outrage
against such injustice
that derange dictate

My asylum is well
but the madness runs
and the keys it holds

My world such beauty
nature states refinement
In the end love repairs

A SOUL TO RECKON

WHAT am I
if not
what I dreamed
Who dissuade
my imperial dream
that I am not me
What power
dissolves me
I say nothing
for I am more
— a soul to reckon

STAY WITH ME

I TREMBLE upon gleeful timber
and my feet speak laughter
Such tickle upon ivory white
touches me in ways beyond
what mortals feel in night

I am glee and I am free
I am love and so much free
I love hearts that love me

Come see the Pasteur for such
it is wide and large for us
Choke sweets and taste me
love vinegar and slap me
I am what the world hates
but mostly they love me
Strong woman stay with me!
