Love is a Nation

Love is a Nation of little people
the invisible workers of
inexhaustible nature;
a titter-patter walking
across all hearts
and passing through doors,
across erected walls.
some cry, “Hello!”
but mostly they go unknown
with tiny eyes glistening
and heavy souls

Mumble Dope Droopy Eye

MUMBLE DOPE droopy eye
feeble finger tremble
painting blue sky!

sun-sing blade light!
slicing fear in silver night
a muse-dance broken sight

damn! the dust twirls tight
in blood mix-meaning night
tonic ball burns and melts

Madness in eyes and ears
tongue-twisted lies
fire clean-crazy felt!

A HUNDRED POEMS – LXXXIII

Brilliance perhaps comes
between fall and winter
what other time
that love marches — Spring!

A blind sight brings
perhaps black shard-thoughts
what banks my feet stood,
hearts feeding doves!

Dear love — awaits
feeding human fawn
there beyond the horizon
divinity speaks!

I tripped — a small rock
what soul slides —> me
i almost spoke to us/me
and love is-was all I need!

The material worth lost
reflecting our congress
We pass, what stays?
It’s easy; all of love!

The Imperial Garden

I walk the
Imperial Garden
of Abstract Thoughts

Elements of Nature

AND shadows shout!
AND fog like muffled cries
obscuring life-like carnivals
when all lights sleep!

THE CARVER

And today I commit my sanity
to a cage of padded walls
inside a bone cave
— a bone bomb
so quietly exploding;
the sparks leave me
through spirit and eyes!
I was a normal creature
until pushed aside
by the wave of humanity
the untold tons of flesh
across my soul!
and now I carve words
from feelings I lost
years ago!

The Dinner Plate

the dinner plate
is quite empty
i sit here
contemplating
quietly awaiting
a meal for my soul
and thoughts
as clean as porcelain
invade me
the clarity of my mind
fed me!

LIKE ANYONE WORTHY

i am like anyone; so hungry
a flesh by soul   so flattered
by your smiles
i’m simply   undone
by your  unfastening
my simple heart
and you  are my undone
I cry a tear
like diamond
and scatter my tender nothings
upon the object of your uninvited
soul — tempest so strangely
my mind thrust for you  my
undone heart
i ate all the blood
upon a cross where
He bled, earth shook
an experience like…i’m anyone
so hungry; a flesh in soul

A PERFECT DAY

Oh!  The swirling umbrellas,
candy rain, and singing souls!
I imagined no thing as this!
Diamond eyes, flower lips,
tender skies kissing hearts! all
the dreams of a dreamer who
writes for the soul!

i cried.
to still write a poem
a soul should go above us
living for all today
these dreams are with us
and every day they do
have the strong voice
of meaning
