I PLUNDERED
the passion of youth
and have spent
the treasure of life
upon a whim
all this and more
in denial of mortality
— yes in youth
and now faced with mortality
— the fire of burning time
I laugh at the folly
of this system
to fear an end

a new beginning!

betray not a one
who beneath my wings

less the robin falls
from its high perch
and love nests…

WHERE is courage
that I see within life…
the first breath
of a newborn
the first step of a child
and even dare I say…
the first kiss of passion
With existence
such trails
shall all walk in life
aimed towards a final event…
requiring the greatest courage

THIS my mind said to me:
like a babbling brook I dream
so clearly in my crystal waters
I smooth the surface of your soul
and beneath I tumble spirit-so…
As my thoughts rumble-flow
against the tide — your shoreless life
my banks constrict but do direct
across the eddies and whirlpools
toward the eventual waterfall
In the end you spill and splash

MY one and only
great indulgence
not of liquor
or consuming food
but the air I breath
— the sun I see
Simple and pleasant
such is living life
the great indulgence
a song that some
choose to dance
with partner or alone

And what if love
could be given
without fear
or inhibition
and just as easy
to receive —
as loving one another
wouldn’t hearts sing?
And what if love
could be received
without question
or expectation?
To live within a world
without broken hearts
love could thrive
like two close lovers
Lets begin to change
the color of our world
and believe in love
and let it grow…

around in your cadium car
baby you don’t want
to look at me
— I made a wish upon a star

with your burning stare
Why is it you don’t care?
When all you do is
beg for more of me?

We drive along the ridge
of Misspent Youth
And all the while
you blow your bubble gum
— into the air – you don’t care
red high heels and fashion stare
And you’re wishing upon a star
looking for a time machine
to bring back your days of youth
